Job summary

AKABA is hiring Behavior Technician / ABA Therapist to provide 1:1 ABA services for children with autism. Sessions run after school, typically 3-4 hours, at clients' homes, communities, or the center. Travel time pay and mileage reimbursements are available.

Under supervision of a BCBA, you’ll work with families, document data, and implement behavior plans. Requires high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Bachelor's degree, EEC and other certifications welcomed.

Overview - About the Behavior Technician Position

Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the Behavior Technician or ABA Therapist role provides 1-to-1 Applied Behavioral Analysis services to children diagnosed with Autism (ASD). Therapy sessions usually run 3-4 hours and primarily take place during after school hours in the client's home, Community, and/or at our Center. Our team focuses on assigning cases as locally as possible (usually within 30 minutes) to your home address or regular school/other work location.

Travel time pay and mileage reimbursements are available (when applicable).

Qualifications of an ABA Therapist / Behavior Technician
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Valid Driver's License (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree, EEC and other certifications are welcomed
  • Friendly, energetic, and enjoys working with individuals with special needs
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to attend an initial orientation
  • Timely and organized
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within a variety of situations
