Job summary

New Beginnings ABA is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) behavior therapist for weekday afternoon sessions in Southbridge, MA. The role focuses on one-to-one ABA instruction for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, across home, center, and community settings.

Work is part-time, with a defined 3:00/3:30 pm – 6:00 pm schedule, and a competitive afternoon differential. Qualifications include a GED/HS diploma, valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass CORI and driving

Qualifications

Afternoon shift differential: $23 - $27 per hour (pay rates listed include a $2 per hour pay differential for working 3 pm - 6 pm shift)

What you will be doing:

As a behavior therapist, you are directly responsible for providing the one-to-one instruction of skills and alternatives to interfering behavior(s) based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Skilled at standing for extended periods of time when needed and/or walk/run after clients
  • Excellent play skills for toddler/young child age groups, along with the agility to get up from and down to floor level to interact with clients at their level
  • Capable of cleaning up after client sessions and helping out other staff when asked.

The therapist must possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and show enthusiasm at work every day; Provide support in crisis situations, consistently implementing predetermined behavioral strategies.
  • Timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents and plans.
  • Maintain accurate data and graphing on all designated programs.
  • Receive feedback in a professional manner and work independently with initial direction.
  • May work with other specialists and/or parents to implement additional specified goals and objectives.
