Responsibilities
- Provide specialty behavioral and psychotherapy services to families and children, focusing on those with developmental and behavioral/mental health issues, including individualized and group services.
- Complete assessments based on parent reports and observations to support evidence-based decision making.
- Develop measurable short-term and functional long-term goals, revising as needed.
- Determine appropriate therapy modalities, including ABA, structured teaching, cognitive behavioral, and supportive psychotherapy.
- Provide behavioral and psychotherapeutic treatments with specialized techniques.
- Offer parent training, incorporate parents into therapy, and conduct workshops.
- Modify treatments based on patient ability and progress.
- Discharge patients with appropriate plans and recommend transitions and follow-ups.
- Conduct initial needs assessments and identify referrals.
- Maintain or exceed productivity levels as per clinical manager.
Case Management & Consultation
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Consult with schools and support services to manage behavioral and emotional problems.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient reports and records.
- Follow guidelines set by accrediting bodies.
Professional Development & Quality Assurance
- Attend trainings and conferences.
- Share knowledge from continuing education.
- Participate in process improvement and safety programs.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or Behavior Analysis.
- At least 1 year of therapy experience with children/adolescents, preferably with developmental disabilities.
Skills & Abilities
- Specialization in behavioral health with independent duties and good communication skills.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or working towards a relevant master’s degree.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and over 25 lbs occasionally with assistance.
- Exposure to hazards like chemicals, blood, and body fluids.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and restrain patients as needed.
