Job summary

AKABA is seeking an ABA Therapist/Behavior Technician to provide one-to-one ABA services for children with Autism (ASD) in homes, centers or community settings. Sessions are typically after school, with local assignments within approximately 30 minutes of your address.

Travel time and mileage reimbursements are offered where applicable. You will work under a BCBA supervision and collaborate with families to achieve effective outcomes, with flexible scheduling and ongoing training to support

Qualifications

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to attend an initial orientation and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Create a fun and engaging learning environment for children with ASD.
  • Work under supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Collaborate with families to support progress.
  • Submit all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Perform electronic data collection.
  • Implement individualized behavior support plans and skill acquisition programs.
  • Maintain local caseloads and report updates as needed.

Required:
  • Must have reliable, personal transportation

About the ABA / BT Position:

Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the Behavior Technician or ABA Therapist role provides 1-to-1 Applied Behavioral Analysis services to children diagnosed with Autism (ASD). Therapy sessions usually run 3-4 hours and primarily take place during after school hours in the client's home, Community, and/or at our Center. Our team focuses on assigning cases as locally as possible (usually within 30 minutes) to your home address or regular school/other work location.

Travel time pay and mileage reimbursements are available (when applicable).

Qualifications of an ABA Therapist / Behavior Technician
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Valid Driver's License (Required)
  • Friendly, energetic, and enjoys working with individuals with special needs
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to attend an initial orientation
  • Timely and organized
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within a variety of situations
