Job summary

Amergis Educational Staffing Cranston, RI is seeking a Behavior Technician to support students with special needs across classrooms and school settings. Responsibilities include implementing ABA-based strategies, data collection, and collaboration with BCBA and instructional staff. Requires high school diploma and strong English communication; CPR and health clearances may be required. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of pediatric experience preferred.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current health certificate and compliance with health standards.
• Must meet federal, state and local requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and maintain confidentiality.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions from BCBA, teacher, and supervisor.
• Implements behavior management techniques (prevention, intervention, consequences).
• Provides crisis intervention as needed.
• Implements behavior intervention plans per IEP guidance.
• Assists in academic instruction and development of ABA goals.
• Supports SLP, OT, and PT development plans.
• Documents sessions per policies and procedures.
• Collects behavioral and academic data accurately.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Assists students in daily living skills across environments.
