Job summary

Soar Autism Center in Rockville, MD is seeking Behavior Technicians to provide one-on-one, play-based ABA therapy for children aged 2–6. You’ll work under master’s‑level clinicians and help kids learn communication and social skills in a supportive center.

No RBT? We offer paid training and a clear progression through the Soar to New Heights program. Expect guaranteed hours for full-time roles, benefits, and opportunities for raises and promotions every few months as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in progress preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred (childcare, caregiving, paraprofessional, behavioral health).
• Ability to obtain and maintain RBT certification within 6 weeks of employment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job description

At Soar Autism Center, Behavior Technicians help children ages 2–6 with autism learn, communicate, and grow through play. Our care is based on the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a play‑based approach to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is a great early career opportunity to build hands‑on experience in psychology and child development while making a meaningful impact every day.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children grow and may come from childcare, daycare, paraprofessional, direct support, behavioral health, education, or caregiving backgrounds.

What We Offer

• $21.50 - $28.50/hour; initial offers are typically $21.50–$22.75/hour, with regular bonus and promotion opportunities. Sign on bonus included with all offers.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required (as verified by resume, application, or BACB attestation for RBT certification); preference for enrollment in or completion of a bachelor’s degree program, with ideal candidates pursuing degrees in child development, psychology, education, or a related field.
• Experience working with children is preferred, including childcare, daycare, caregiving, paraprofessional, direct support, or behavioral health experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain RBT certification within 6 weeks of employment.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, teamwork, and comfort using computers/tablets.
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, move quickly, occasionally run short distances, and lift up to 50 lbs.
