Job summary

Soar Autism Center is seeking a Behavior Technician to deliver one-on-one, play-based ABA therapy for young children in our center in Silver Spring, MD. You will implement plans created by Master’s-level clinicians and report progress to families, leveraging your background in childcare or caregiving within a supportive clinical setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with children, and a commitment to obtaining RBT certification within six weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; BACB attestation for RBT verification preferred.
• Experience working with children in childcare, daycare, caregiving, paraprofessional, direct support, or behavioral health.
• Ability to obtain RBT certification within 6 weeks of employment.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, teamwork, and comfort using computers/tablets.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

Job description

At Soar Autism Center, Behavior Technicians help children ages 2–6 with autism learn, communicate, and grow through play. Our care is based on the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a play-based approach to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is a great early career opportunity to build hands‑on experience in psychology and child development while making a meaningful impact every day.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children grow and may come from childcare, daycare, paraprofessional, direct support, behavioral health, education, or caregiving backgrounds.

What We Offer

• $21.50 - $28.50/hour; initial offers are typically $21.50–$22.75/hour, with regular bonus and promotion opportunities. Sign on bonus included with all offers.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required (as verified by resume, application, or BACB attestation for RBT certification); preference for enrollment in or completion of a bachelor’s degree program, with ideal candidates pursuing degrees in child development, psychology, education, or a related field.
• Experience working with children is preferred, including childcare, daycare, caregiving, paraprofessional, direct support, or behavioral health experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain RBT certification within 6 weeks of employment.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, teamwork, and comfort using computers/tablets.
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, move quickly, occasionally run short distances, and lift up to 50 lbs.
