Job summary

LEARN Academy (formerly Desert Choice Schools) is hiring a Behavior Technician to support students with special needs across academic, social-emotional, and self-help skills. You will implement a structured program designed to foster independence and functional skills, under direct supervision and with ongoing mentoring.

This is a full-time, ten-month position with paid breaks. Applicants should have a high school diploma (college degree preferred) and 1–2 years of experience with children in

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to individuals and groups of students.
• Support social-emotional, adaptive behavior, and social-skill development.
• Record data on student progress as directed by teaching and clinical teams.
• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by staff and provide practice opportunities.
• Assist students in community, school, and leisure activities under supervision.
• Apply approved de-escalation techniques and safe restraints; training provided.
