Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring a Direct Support Provider to assist individuals with developmental delays and challenging behaviors in a supportive, one-to-one setting in San Diego, CA.

You will help with daily living activities, implement Behavior Support Plans, and participate in data collection to track progress. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for related experience in education or healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in educational or healthcare setting preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior areas.
• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meals, dressing and mobility.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
