Job summary

Beachmont Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, reliable Behavior Technicians to work with children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

New hires receive paid 6-day training and ongoing supervision. You’ll work under a BCBA, collect data, and collaborate with families to improve clients’ independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to receive coaching and feedback is required.
• Ability to pass a background check.

What You’ll Do

• Help individuals increase independence and improve their overall quality of life

Realistic Job Preview

This is a hands-on behavioral health position. Many clients receive ABA services because they engage in behaviors that interfere with learning, safety, relationships, or independence. Behavior Technicians should expect to work with individuals who may exhibit:

• Elopement (running away)
• Tantrums
• Aggression, including hitting, pushing, pinching, scratching, kicking, or biting
• Property destruction
• Self-injurious behavior
• Refusal or non-compliant behaviors
• Emotional regulation challenges

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor
• Ability to move quickly to maintain client safety
• Working in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings
• Participation in role-play and hands-on training activities

Paid Training Provided

All newly hired Behavior Technicians complete Beachmont's paid 6-day training program, which includes:

• New Hire Orientation
• HIPAA Training
• Introduction to ABA
• Reinforcement, Prompting, and Teaching Strategies
• Skill Acquisition and Behavior Reduction Procedures
• Data Collection and Documentation
• Ethics and Professional Conduct
• In-Person Skills Competency Practicum

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
• Background in education, childcare, psychology, healthcare, or behavioral health
