Job Description

Behavior Technicians/Therapists work with individuals with autism spectrum disorders or other special needs, providing one-to-one behavior treatment in the client’s home, school, community, and/or clinic settings. They utilize principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), such as reinforcement and prompting, to teach clients adaptive behaviors in developmental areas including language, socialization, play, self-help, and motor skills. They implement behavior modification techniques, like differential reinforcement of alternative behaviors (DRA), to reduce problem behaviors. Additionally, they may train parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention plans, take detailed data on skills and behaviors, and communicate with supervisors about treatment progress. They also attend team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

This position is also known as ABA Tutor, ABA Technician, ABA Therapist, Behavior Therapist, RBT, or Behavior Instructor.

Position Overview

Under supervision of a BCBA or Clinical Supervisor, you will:

• Implement personalized behavior intervention plans.
• Work one-on-one to develop life, communication, and social skills.
• Accurately collect and record client progress data.
• Use positive reinforcement and evidence-based techniques to manage behaviors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degrees in Psychology, Education, or related fields are a plus.
• RBT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Experience with ASD or developmental needs is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, professional, punctual.
• Driver's License required.
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 8am - 7pm.
