Job description

Center for Behavioral, Educational, and Social Therapies (C.B.E.S.T.), a division of The Stepping Stones Group, is urgently hiring for Behavior Technicians!

This position allows you to work one-on-one with a child with behavioral needs in a school setting in South Bay Los Angeles area, utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to meet specific goals for the child. It is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a schedule of Monday - Friday, between 7:50 am - 3:30 pm, totaling 30 hours per week.

Job Duties

1. Work one-on-one with a child exhibiting moderate to severe behaviors (e.g., aggression, elopement) at an assigned school site.
2. Collaborate with a Case Supervisor to implement positive behavior intervention strategies aimed at improving the child's functional behavior, emotional language, communication, socialization, academic performance, and independent daily living skills.
3. Collect, organize, and summarize behavioral data related to the child's behavior goals.
4. Maintain a 1-year commitment to consistent attendance and responsive, timely communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to work 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 7:50 am - 3:30 pm.
• Prior experience working with children required.
• Clear criminal background check, TB clearance, and reliable transportation required.
• Willingness to work with students exhibiting mild to severe behaviors (e.g., aggression, elopement).
• Physical ability to run short distances, sit on the floor, bend, squat, kneel, lift up to 25 lbs., and twist at the waist; able to stand and sit for extended periods.
• Knowledge of ABA, CPI, and/or Safety Care is preferred.
