As a Behavior Technician at BCI, you’ll have the exciting role of helping children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self-help skills through a form of play-based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Working as a Behavior Technician requires specific characteristics, including:

  • If you work full-time, you can earn up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
  • If you work part-time, you are eligible for sick leave.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Working with kids aged 1-22 years with autism and special needs in their homes or in our centers.
  • Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Transportation requirements: Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and personal vehicle preferred.
  • Schedule options: Part-time, Monday-Friday, Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday, various session times between 8am-3pm.
  • Starting pay at $22/hr and up with experience.
  • Opportunity to become eligible for (RBT) certification.

Additional requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 (on or before the first day of employment).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Availability for a consistent weekly schedule including mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish.
  • Studies or background in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or related fields.
  • Experience working with children in roles such as babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
  • Interest in training and skills development for careers in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, counseling, mental health, and parenting.
  • Creating lasting, positive change for children and their families.

Physical requirements vary based on client needs and may include pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and moving quickly. Ability to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run is necessary.
