Job summary

Northway Academy – Elk River, MN is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to support children with autism through early intervention. You’ll implement therapy plans and behavior strategies, teaching communication, self-care, and social interaction while assisting transitions to school settings.

Work Monday–Friday, daytime hours with no nights or weekends. Competitive pay $17–$21/hr based on qualifications, benefits for 32+ hrs/week (health, dental, vision, PTO, 401k), plus a same-day pay

Qualifications

• Academic qualifications align with ABA service delivery requirements.
• Level 1 requires graduate studies or master’s in mental health plus 6,000 ABA hours.
• Level 2 accepts various degrees with supervised clinical hours or equivalently extensive experience.

Responsibilities

Education

Graduate program in mental health or master’s degree in mental health field

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related fields

6,000 hours of paid/clinical ABA experience

Enrolled in or hold bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related fields (Level 2)

Associate’s degree with 2,000+ hours supervised clinical experience (Level 2)

High school diploma with 4,000 hours supervised clinical experience (Level 2)

Fluent in a non-English language or tribal nation certification (Level 2)

What You’ll Do

Qualifications (must meet one from Level 1 or Level 2):

Level 1 ($20–$21/hr):

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master’s degree in a mental health field
• Obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and have 6,000 hours of paid/clinical experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services

Level 2 ($18–$19/hr):

• Enrolled in OR hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy)
• Hold an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy) and at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
• Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (equivalent to 2 years of full-time experience, including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
• Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation
