Job summary

Northway Academy in Alexandria, MN seeks a dedicated Behavior Technician to support children with autism in early intervention programs. You will implement therapy plans, apply behavior strategies, and teach vital communication and social skills, helping children transition to school settings.

Level 1-2 qualifications vary, with degrees in behavioral health or related fields and required supervised experience.

Qualifications

• Level 1 requires a graduate program in a mental health discipline or a master’s degree in a mental health field.
• Level 1 requires a bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, child development or related fields with 6,000 hours of ABA experience.
• Level 2 requires a related bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree with supervised hours or a HS diploma with 4,000 supervised hours.
• Fluency in a non-English language or tribal nation certification may meet Level 2 requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Support children with autism through early intervention programs

Qualifications (must meet one* from Level 1 or Level 2*):

Level 1 ($20–$21/hr):

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master’s degree in a mental health field
• Obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and have 6,000 hours of paid/clinical experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services

Level 2 ($18–$19/hr):

• Enrolled in OR hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy)
• Hold an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy) and at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
• Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (equivalent to 2 years of full-time experience, including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
• Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation
