Job summary

MeBe is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to support children with autism in our Learning Center. You will work 1:1 and with BCBA plans to build communication, social and daily living skills in a friendly, supportive environment.

We offer paid training to prepare you for the RBT exam, with supervision and shadowing. Part-time roles are available, and you’ll join a compassionate team focused on meaningful, impact-driven care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 with a valid driver's license.
• RBT/CBT certification preferred; must obtain within 60 days with company support.
• Part-time availability Monday through Friday.
• Background in child care, teaching, or counseling preferred.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to pass a background check and work with computers.
• If residing in CA, AZ, or VA, CPR/BLS certification required before client work.

Responsibilities

• Teach and nurture behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills 1:1 with kids.
• Follow treatment plans developed by BCBAs to improve communication and play skills.
• Relay progress to BCBAs and assist with BCBA assessments.
• Record behavior data in Central Reach after each session.
• Clock in/out and submit session notes in a timely manner.
• Keep the workplace safe, organized, and compliant with regulations.
• Assist with lunch, bathroom and diaper changes as needed.
• Collaborate with Site Director and Supervisors; maintain professional boundaries.
• Build positive relationships with families and contribute to MeBe Family culture.

About What You'll Work On:

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication, mental health and behavioral challenges. Although autism can be diagnosed at any age, it is described as a "developmental disorder" because symptoms generally appear in the first 2 years of life. People with ASD may face a wide range of issues, which means that there is no single best treatment for ASD. Working closely with a health care provider like MeBe Family is an important part of finding the right combination of treatment and services. (Reference, National Institute of Mental Health)

• As a Behavior Technician ,
• You'll teach and nurture behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills in a 1:1 setting to kiddos with autism at MeBe's Learning Center.
• You'll follow treatment plans developed by BCBAs that help increase the kiddo's communication, self-help, social and play skills.
• You'll relay info on your kiddos' progress to BCBAs to keep them informed and assist with BCBA assessments.
• At the end of each session, you'll accurately record the kiddo's behavior analysis and progress in our data collection system Central Reach using your work assigned tablet.
• You'll be responsible for clocking in, submitting your session notes and clocking out to align with strict ABA and Insurance provider regulations.
• You'll help keep our workplace shipshape, safe, and super organized.
• You'll help our kiddos with lunch breaks, bathroom breaks and diaper changing.
• You'll help with projects and tasks as directed by your Site Director and Clinical Supervisors.
• You'll voice questions, issues and concerns to your supervisors as appropriate and take co-ownership of treatment planning .
• You'll help to build positive relationships with families while maintaining professional boundaries.
• You'll positively contribute to the MeBe Family culture.

Qualifications:

• Consistent availability from Monday through Friday. Part-time shifts available.
• Must be at least 18-years-old with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• RBT/ CBT certification preferred. Must obtain RBT/CBT certification within 60 days of employment (MeBe will help you!)
• Prefer a background in child care ; teaching, counseling, babysitting.
• Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), squat, sit, stand, and/or run, (without reasonable accommodations), see with prescription lenses, and hear with hearing aids.
• Previous training in First Aid Certified and CPR is preferred
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work with computers.
• If residing in CA, AZ, or VA, must obtain CPR/BLS certification before working with clients
• Must have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent- required. A bachelor's degree in areas like Pediatrics or Human Development (Biology) is preferred.
