Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services seeks a passionate Behavior Technician to work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are looking for passionate professionals with experience in psychology, education, social work, ABA, or roles involving children, such as babysitting or nannying. As a Behavior Technician, you'll work one-on-one with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental challenges in their home environments. Your responsibilities include fostering growth in communication, daily living, and social skills while addressing behaviors that impact safety and independence-such as hitting, biting, or kicking-by implementing evidence-based techniques.
We are currently hiring a part-time Behavior Technician for afternoon hours (3-8 pm, Monday through Friday), with flexible scheduling options available. Compensation ranges from $20 to $26 per hour, along with paid time off (PTO), sick leave, drive time, and mileage reimbursement. Additionally, we offer a performance-based incentive system to reward excellence and provide a clear path for career growth.
Professional development is a cornerstone at Ad Astra. We provide access to a comprehensive 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training program, which is the first step toward earning your RBT credential through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Completing the certification process will result in a $1 per hour pay increase.
Qualifications include a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with car insurance, professionalism, creativity, strong communication skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
Implementing evidence-based interventions to develop communication, social, and adaptive skills and address behavior excesses that may include: biting, kicking, hitting, etc.
Using empathy and understanding to support clients in achieving their goals and working with a multidisciplinary team
Teaching replacement behaviors that promote safety, independence, and skill acquisition
Accurately collecting and documenting data to drive effective, individualized treatment plans
Collaborating closely with families to provide guidance and support in implementing ABA strategies in everyday situations
