Job summary

The Summit Center in Western New York is hiring a Behavior Support Technician. This role supports Behavior Support Consultants with classroom observations, data collection, staff training on behavior plans, and monitoring treatment integrity.

It may also involve administrative tasks and crisis intervention, ensuring IFSP/IEP mandates are consistently applied. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in psychology or special education, with at least one year of direct experience with developmental

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year direct clinical or educational experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge and competencies in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) including definitions, ethics, assessment, and program design.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral consultation to teams under the guidance of Behavioral Support Consultants.
• Provide crisis intervention for individuals and assist with classroom routines.
• Collect, organize and maintain direct observational data.
• Assist with training of staff in best-practice methods.
• Complete or assist with the completion of reports.
• Conduct duties in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines; adhere to agency values.
