Job summary

BASIS Richardson is hiring a Special Education Teacher- Behavior Support to start immediately. The role focuses on behavior support and intervention strategies to help students achieve academic and social-emotional goals.

Responsibilities include designing IEPs and BIPs, applying PBIS, conducting FBAs, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure consistent behavior support across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state certification in Special Education.
• Experience with students with challenging behaviors and social-emotional needs.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques, BIPs, and FBAs.
• Experience implementing PBIS and crisis de-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Design and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and track progress.
• Apply PBIS strategies to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Conduct FBAs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for interventions.
• Support students with challenging behaviors using proactive de-escalation techniques.
• Analyze data to inform instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with families and school staff to ensure consistency.
• Maintain documentation on interventions and compliance.
