KIPP Columbus, located in Columbus, OH, seeks a dedicated Behavior Assistant with at least 1 year of school-based experience to support students and implement behavior plans. Required are 10 hours of training in behavior management and de-escalation, and an active Ohio educational aide permit.

The role includes one-on-one or small-group support, data collection, and collaboration with BCBA, teachers, and administrators to maintain a calm, safe learning environment.

Formación

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a school setting.
• 10 hours training in behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies.
• Training in de-escalation techniques.
• Active educational aide permit through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioral settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students and staff.

Responsabilidades

• Assist students in following behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and IEP goals.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
• Use reinforcement strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavior supports.
• Monitor and collect data on student behavior and intervention effectiveness.
• Support teachers in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Model effective behavior management techniques for teachers and staff.
• Collaborate with behavior specialists or school-based teams to implement strategies.
• Attend training sessions on behavior management and de-escalation.
