Job summary

Positive Pathways Counseling and Consulting in Indiana is seeking a Part-Time (Contract, 1099) Behavioral Support Specialist to provide services under HCBS. You will conduct FBAs, develop BSPs, and coach families in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, ABA, or another qualifying applied health service field.
• Experience developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) through observation, interviews, record review, and data collection.
• Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans based on assessment results and person-centered goals.
• Develop positive, proactive strategies to increase appropriate behaviors and teach replacement skills.
• Monitor behavioral data and update plans as needs change.
• Provide behavioral consultation and support in home and community settings.
• Train and coach families, caregivers, direct support professionals, and other members of the individual’s support team.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with families, case managers, clinicians, and other providers.
• Use the least restrictive interventions appropriate to the individual’s needs and follow applicable human-rights requirements.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, assessments, and service records.
• Report health and safety concerns, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other required incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Indiana Medicaid FSSA/DDARS, and agency requirements.
• Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, and required continuing education.
