Job summary

Devereux PA Children's Services is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to work with Brandywine School students with challenging behaviors on a West Chester campus. Responsibilities include supporting behavior management, implementing BCBA-developed interventions, and helping students transfer skills to natural supports in least restrictive settings.

Qualifications

As a Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) you will work with our Brandywine School students who have frequent challenging behaviors in a school setting which is located on our main campus in West Chester, PA.

Every day as a Behavior Support Specialist you will:
  • Provide behavior management support to individuals in a school setting.

  • Carry out specific interventions that are developed by the Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

  • Transfer skills to individuals’ natural support in the least restrictive environment.

  • Support teachers in managing student behaviors in the classroom.

You will be offered....
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.50 (based upon experience)

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week year round position)

The Brandywine School located in West Chester, PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Devereux’s approved private schools offer high quality, innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student, or as a part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals.

Qualifications
