Job summary

Brainerd Public Schools at Brainerd High School is seeking a Behavior Management Specialist to provide 1:1 or small group behavioral support for students with significant needs. The role requires specialized behavioral support, quick thinking, and strong teamwork to ensure student safety and progress.

The position involves implementing behavior plans, collaborating with families and staff, and meeting IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associates Degree, 60 college credits or Para Pro certification.
• Experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs.
• Handle with Care certification.
• First aid, CPR, and medication administration certifications.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans for students.
• Provide 1:1 support to students requiring significant behavioral support.
• Ensure student's safety, and the safety of others at all times.
• Provide home bound service/support when appropriate.
• Consult with parents/guardians and other service providers to ensure effective services.
• Demonstrate and model appropriate developmental and behavioral skills for students.
• Demonstrate flexible, quick-thinking responses for deregulated/stressed students.
• Participate in meetings (IEP, conferences, etc.) to develop student goals.
• Monitor student progress and prepare documentation and reports.
• Maintain confidentiality
• All other duties as assigned
