Job summary

Merakey seeks a Behavior Support Professional to join our Marlton, NJ team, focusing on functional behavior assessments and development of behavior support plans. The role emphasizes collaboration with families and multi-disciplinary teams.

We offer a second shift (2-8pm, Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri) with opportunities to train others, document progress, and support adults with IDD and mental health needs in a nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• 2+ years’ experience with developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans under supervision of a Master’s Degree holder.
• Demonstrated ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Ability to write and edit plans that incorporate Positive Behavior Supports.
• Competency in writing supports plans and effective verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to train and mentor others required.
• Ability to perform duties with limited supervision.
• Experience with adults with IDD and mental health diagnosis or autism.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the person, their family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.
• Trains and mentors the persons support team on how to implement plans.
• Completes documentation including data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP).
• Provides timely documentation per policy, including data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the BSP.

Completes observations in various settings and conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) of presenting issues from aggression, self-injurious behavior, adverse mental health symptoms, law offending behavior- sexual or other identified presenting issues

• Collaborates with the person, their family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.

• Completes documentation including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
