Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking a full-time Behavior Support Facilitator for the Coatesville Child and Career Development Center within the Student Services division. The role focuses on delivering timely behavioral and mental health support to classrooms and maintaining accurate incident records.

The facilitator will work with behavior support staff, deans, and administrators to implement effective interventions and ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral support, crisis intervention, or student services in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong background in data collection and analysis related to student behavior.
• Clearances (PA Criminal, Child abuse, FBI) and CPR/First Aid required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate immediate support by deploying appropriate personnel to classrooms.
• Collaborate with behavior support staff, dean of students, and administration to ensure effective interventions.

• Monitor trends and provide data reports to inform decision-making and proactive strategies.
• Identify students exhibiting immediate mental health needs and coordinate support resources.
• Communicate with staff and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in team meetings to review behavioral data and develop intervention plans.
• Engage in required professional development related to behavioral support, crisis intervention, and mental health practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A vacancy exists for a full-time Behavior Support Facilitator at the Coatesville Child and Career Development Center within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Summary Of Position

The Behavior Support Facilitator serves as the primary and centralized point of contact for classroom staff requesting behavioral or mental health support through designated communication channels. This position ensures a timely, coordinated response by deploying appropriate personnel and strategies to classrooms in need of immediate assistance.

Working in close collaboration with behavior support staff, the Dean of Students, School Administrators, and external partners, the Facilitator supports effective interventions and ensures continuity of care for students, including those exhibiting immediate mental health needs.

The Facilitator is responsible for collecting, documenting, and maintaining accurate records of behavioral incidents and interventions, monitoring trends, and providing timely data reports to inform decision-making, proactive strategies, and intervention planning. This role actively participates in team meetings to review behavioral data and assist with the development of student support plans.

Through responsive coordination, accurate data management, and ongoing professional development in behavioral support, crisis intervention, and mental health practices, the Facilitator plays a critical role in promoting a safe, supportive, and responsive learning environment for all students.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Experience in behavioral support, crisis intervention, or student services in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong background in data collection and analysis related to student behavior.
• PA Criminal and Child abuse Clearances current within 180 days prior to start date required
• FBI clearance current within 1 year of start date required
• CPR/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire
• Clearance as an MA provider by both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the federal government required (conducted upon hire)

Salary 2026-2027 School Year

• Support Contract Level 11
• Hourly $24.82 - $30.21 Hourly (Placement is based upon related experience)

Schedule

• Monday- Friday. 7.5 hours/day, 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM, 210 days/year
