Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a division of ChanceLight, is hiring a Behavior Specialist to join our award-winning Special Education team serving K-12 students. You will contribute to positive student outcomes through proactive behavior supports.

You will implement school-wide and classroom interventions, support IEP teams with data collection, and de-escalate crisis situations using evidence-based strategies under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential preferred.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience in behavioral instruction for children.
• Experience with learners with autism and learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of ABA, FBA, PBIS, and BIP.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Implement targeted interventions to improve academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
• Reinforce positive behavior and model effective strategies for staff.
• Maintain SBS and BIP documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and chart behavioral data with IEP teams.
• Support staff in monitoring behaviors and classroom management systems.
• Apply ABA principles under supervision to improve outcomes.
• Conduct observations for FBA and behavior plans.
• Assist teachers with activities and supervision.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Document incidents and maintain confidentiality.
