Job summary

The California Department of Developmental Services is seeking a Behavior Specialist II in Riverside County, California. In this role, you will provide behavioral services following established standards for various clients, perform assessments, and develop strategies with the interdisciplinary team.

Job description

Job Title: Behavior Specialist II
Location: Riverside County, California

Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral services to consumers following established standards and procedures for Canyon Springs General Admission, 7505 Admission, and STAR Crisis Admission clients.
  • Perform functional behavioral assessments.
  • Develop behavioral strategies in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), providers, and other behavior specialists for prevention and intervention plans.
  • Provide on‑site direct care, modeling, coaching, instruction, and training with consumers and their caretakers/direct care staff in community settings, including consumers’ homes.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
  • Minimum education and experience requirements as stated in the Classification Specification.
  • Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the National Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or expected to receive certification within one month of appointment.
  • Ability to develop cooperative, harmonious relationships with service providers, regional center staff, and others.
  • Effective communication and analytical skills for interdisciplinary teamwork.
Special Requirements
  • Drug screening clearance prior to hire.
  • Background investigation clearance prior to hire.
  • Medical clearance prior to hire.
