Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a Behavior Specialist at Great Hearts Forest Heights Lower School (K-5) to collaborate with special education staff in ABA-based behavior management and to support functional behavior assessments and behavior improvement plans. The role reports to the Headmaster within Special Student Services.

The position is salaried (Exempt). Preferred credentials include a Master’s degree and BCBA certification, with at least two years of special education classroom

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• BCBA Certification preferred.
• Two years of special education classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model positive behavioral intervention strategies for teachers to use in the classroom setting.
• Assist teachers in analyzing behavior and developing correlating strategies for intervention.
• Assist teachers and special education staff in the implementation of behavior strategies.
• Complete FBAs and BIPs when requested by ARD committee.
• Provide professional development as requested.
• Provide student and teacher observations to assist in the development of behavior interventions and strategies, FBAs and BIPs.
