Job summary

WCS Healthcare Partners in Dutchess County is seeking a Behavior Specialist for the Adult Program. The role provides essential behavioral services to adults in a day habilitation setting, delivering person-centered support through consultation, behavior support planning, direct intervention, and skill development.

You will train staff and families to ensure faithful implementation of individualized plans and may travel to other programs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or related Human Services field.
  • ABA experience or certification preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with individuals who may have significant behavioral, medical, and support needs.
  • Ability to travel between program locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related conditions.
  • Conduct annual and ongoing behavioral and skills-based assessments.
  • Develop, implement, train staff on, and oversee behavioral and skills-based support and intervention plans.
  • Provide direct behavioral intervention and support as needed.
  • Travel to other day habilitation programs as needed.
  • Maintain effective data collection systems, including data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide clinical consultation to program staff regarding participant behavior and environmental supports.
  • Use clear and effective communication to promote collaboration and information sharing among staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare participant-specific and program-specific reports and documentation.
  • Participate in agency training initiatives and professional development activities.
  • Supervise and mentor staff participating in the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) program.

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in Dutchess County, providing essential behavioral services to adults in a day habilitation setting. This role involves delivering person-centered support through consultation, behavior support planning, direct intervention, and skill development. The successful candidate will also play a crucial role in training staff and families to ensure the effective implementation of individualized behavior support plans. Travel to other day habilitation programs may be required.

Key Responsibilities
