Behavior Technician - Center Based - Farmingdale

Details about this opportunity:

• Location: Farmingdale, NY
• Type: Center-Based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist/Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
• Hours: Mon‑Fri 8:30am‑3:30pm
• Compensation: $20‑24/hourly (Rates determined by experience, education, skillset, and certifications)
• Services: Provide IEP mandated services at our centers (not insurance based)

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Clinical Supervisors (BCBAs) to implement ABA principles and teaching procedures.
• Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions.
• Acquire and maintain an RBT credential within the first 90 days of employment.
• Use electronic platforms for data collection and graphing.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans as directed.
• Effectively manage learners, including physical crisis intervention protocols, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Understand and demonstrate the company core values.

  Background Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months ABA experience with children or adolescents with autism in a supervised setting.
  • Experience working with challenging behaviors preferred.
  • Enrollment or completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, or related field is a plus.
  • Must be able to work safely and directly with individuals who engage in varying magnitudes of challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, self‑injury, property destruction, elopement).
  • Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb and descend staircases.
  • Must be able to maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods.
  • Must be able to utilize quick body movements and PMT techniques as indicated on the Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Bilingual language skills are a plus.
