Job summary

Sample Supports is seeking a Behavior Manager to oversee and improve supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will lead PBSP development, assess behaviors, and coach staff across residential and day programs to deliver compassionate, outcomes-based care.

You will collaborate with families, guardians, and healthcare partners to ensure coordinated, compliant services while maintaining data-driven plans and crisis guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Experience developing behavior support plans and implementing positive behavior interventions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and make recommendations based on individual needs.
• Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to Direct Support Professionals, residential staff, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, guardians, case managers, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Monitor behavioral data, identify trends, and adjust support strategies as needed.
• Conduct observations in residential, day program, and community settings.
• Ensure behavior supports align with state regulations, agency policies, and person-centered practices.
• Assist with crisis prevention planning and provide guidance during behavioral emergencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case notes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ISP meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Support staff development through ongoing education and best practice training.
• Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and positive behavior support throughout the organization.
