Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a school-based therapist to work with Beaufort County School District, focusing on social-emotional and cognitive-behavioral development for students. You will provide individual and group sessions, model skills, and coordinate with teachers and families to implement behavior plans.

You will document progress in the district system, participate in MTSS/IEP meetings, and attend professional development to stay current with evidence-based strategies and safety policy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with school-age children.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and district database programs.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for students' social-emotional and cognitive-behavioral skills development.
  • Provide individual and group sessions that teach and roleplay social, emotional, and behavioral skills to students identified through the MTSS Process.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and key stakeholders to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Document in the appropriate electronic system on students' behavior, interventions, and ongoing interactions with students.
  • Participate in team meetings and staffing for students including MTSS and IEP meetings as needed.
  • Use Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques with students during intense episodes or outbursts.
  • Participate in professional development sessions including attending conferences and taking specialized courses.
  • Review specific program curriculums, evidence-based strategies, and teaching behavior skills related to job responsibilities.
  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the policies of the Board of Education.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and District policies.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Position Purpose

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science or Arts in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, and district-identified database program applications.
  • Experience working with school-age children.
