Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in education, counseling, or social work.
• Experience working with adolescents, including students with disabilities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of positive behavior intervention and support.
• Knowledge of diversity issues and the African American community.
• Effective communication and human relations skills.
• Knowledge and skills in group facilitation.
• Collaborative problem solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support communication and build positive relationships between students and building staff.
• Collaborate with building administration to implement positive behavioral strategies and de-escalation.
• Support student success in classroom participation and academics.
• Assist in facilitating groups with staff, students and families.
• Liaise with community resources for student needs.
• Develop and implement plans with education and community agencies.
• Support and facilitate crisis management.
• Work under supervision of BCBA and Special Education Supervisors.
• Implement interventions, collect data, coach and mentor staff.
• Work at a district site for approx 4–6 weeks with a 1:1 student.
• Attend to students with high-intensity behaviors.
• Other tasks as assigned.
