Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living is seeking a Behavior Specialist to develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) under supervision, train care staff, and monitor progress. You will conduct data analysis, participate in clinical meetings, and provide crisis management support as needed.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years’ experience with mentally ill or intellectually disabled adults, a psychology-related bachelor’s degree, and the ability to drive and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience with mentally ill and intellectually disabled adults preferred.
• Experience with behavioral observations and interventions for complex behaviors required.
• Skilled in teaching and coaching staff to implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) under supervision.
• Train staff to implement BSP and intervene during challenging behaviors.
• Participate in clinical/behavioral consultation meetings.
• Develop crisis management and behavioral support services, including on-site staff support.
• Provide post-incident debriefing and reports; analyze data and adjust plans.
• Maintain records, enter data daily, and communicate with families and stakeholders.
• Attend team meetings and ensure timely documentation.

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
