Job summary

Bales Elementary in Buckeye, AZ, is seeking a TOSA - Behavior Specialist to provide intensive Tier 3 supports for students with disruptive or aggressive behaviors. The role centers on designing and implementing individualized behavior plans, assessments, and collaboration with families and external agencies.

The candidate will lead training, develop interventions, and work with school teams to promote student success in alignment with district expectations.

Qualifications

• Must have AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid Arizona teaching certificate (Special Education preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in education, preferably with behavior intervention.
• Experience with students with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to use technology and Google applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct FBAs and guide the development of BIPs and crisis plans.
• Implement PTR model for individualized interventions.
• Provide direct services within general and special education settings.
• Participate on crisis response teams and de-escalate when necessary.
• Collaborate with families, school teams and external agencies.
• Deliver professional development on behavior intervention and SEL.
• Coach teachers in positive behavior strategies and SEL.
• Maintain confidential documentation and complete required district reports.
• Participate in meetings and committees related to student services.
