Job summary

Beaufort County School District is seeking a dedicated professional to provide support and intervention for students with ongoing emotional or behavioral challenges. You will consult with teachers, counselors, and social workers to define goals and develop individualized behavioral plans, implementing programs designed to foster positive changes.

The role involves working one-on-one with students, coordinating with related agencies, and sharing actionable information with families and staff.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults with teachers, counselors, school social workers and other appropriate personnel concerning the behavioral objectives and goals of students.
• Assists instructional personnel in the development of behavioral plans.
• Implements behavioral programs designed to make positive and appropriate changes.
• Works one-on-one with students to effect behavior changes and assists instructional personnel as necessary.
• Collaborates with related agencies to develop effective programs for changing student behavior.
• Provides information to family or other care providers concerning student actions.
• Ensures consistency of behavioral standards by coordinating with all student contacts.
• Obtains information and advice on prior behavior problems from school personnel.
• Provides information to teachers and staff concerning behavioral concerns.
• Maintains records on contacts with students detailing proposed and completed objectives.
