Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville is seeking an Intervention Specialist to perform a variety of general and specialized intervention programs and to educate team members on implementation and monitoring.

The role involves direct behavior therapy, data collection, and collaboration with multiple disciplines, with a 10-hour shift and four shifts per week, under an exempt position. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Service field preferred
• Experience: five (5) years in human services required for applicants without Bachelor's Degree
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

• Provides information relative to assessment to all disciplines
• Provides input into intervention plans in conjunction with appropriate discipline
• Communicates effectiveness of interventions to appropriate discipline
• Maintains orderly and appropriately stocked supplies and activities on unit
• Facilitates implementation of daily activity schedule in conjunction with Program Coordinator
• Provides training of intervention plans to various disciplines involved in patient care
• Monitors implementation of intervention plans and provides feedback regarding plan implementation
• Provides direct behavior therapy and active treatment programming on individual and/or group basis including proactive strategies and crisis intervention and models programming for all team members
• Assists with maintaining a structured milieu
• Collects, records, and enters data on observable patient behavior
• Accepts participation in special projects and appointments to hospital committees as appropriate
• Assists with floor coverage and other unit duties, as necessary
