Job summary

Hope Human Services in Washington is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities through data collection, observation, and coaching within their home environments. The role emphasizes analysis of data, collaboration with teams, and individualized care planning.

Based in a network serving Tacoma to Vancouver, this full-time, in-person position offers benefits, ongoing paid training, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • One year experience as a Behavioral Specialist/Trainer or related license preferred (BCaBA, RBT).
  • Ability to travel to multiple program locations and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Review collected data and participate in collaboration meetings and indirect resource, program, and plan development.
  • Implement supports around clinical and behavioral needs, including plans for individuals with complex care needs.
  • Collaborate with all disciplines to meet individuals' needs.
  • Support the clinical team in developing specific support plans and protocols.
  • Attend and demonstrate Green Zone, Ukeru, and Right Response trainings.

Hope Human Services is expanding its Mobile DiversionServices to include locations between Tacoma & Vancouver. Mobile Diversionis a short-term stabilization service. Our primary goal is stabilizing theindividual in their current environment to avoid restrictive placements such aspsychiatric holds, hospitals, incarceration, etc. Mobile Diversion utilizes acombination of wraparound teams, support training/coaching, individual skillbuilding, resource development, crisis management training, and otherindividualized interventions to achieve stabilization. Our work is challengingand rewarding! We are a premier provider of Residential Services in WashingtonState with a focus on high quality, individualized, caregiving services foradults with Developmental & Intellectual Disabilities.

Behavior Intervention Specialist Job Responsibilities

Behavior Intervention Specialists will be largely based indirect engagement with individuals within their current home environment andcentered on data collection, observation, and coaching on appropriate supports.Responsibilities
include:

  • Focuson reviewing collected data and participating in collaboration meetingsand indirect resource, program, and plan development
  • Responsiblefor the implementation of supports around clinical and behavioral supportneeds for the individuals we serve, including plans for individuals wesupport with complex care needs
  • Workscollaboratively with all other disciplines to ensure all needs are met forthe individuals
  • Responsiblefor supporting the clinical team in the development of specific supportplans, and other plans and protocols as needed
  • Attendand demonstrate the Green Zone, Ukeru, and Right Response training
Position Requirements
  • Be atleast 21 years of age
  • Haveexperience with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities,in Supported Living, Community Protection, and/or Crisis Diversion ispreferred
  • Havean Associate or Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related fieldpreferred (Behavior analysis, psychology, education or relateddiscipline).
  • Haveone year experience as a qualified Behavioral Specialist/Trainer/*Relevantlicense highly preferred i.e. BCaBA, RBT, etc.
  • Mustbe able to travel to various program locations and work flexible hourswhich can include evenings and weekends depending on the needs of theindividuals we support
  • Proofof vehicle insurance and an acceptable driving record
  • Ableto pass federal and state background checks and maintain clearance duringemployment
  • Abilityto interface with multiple data collection systems (e.g. Therap, ALP,Microsoft Forms, etc.)
