Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support a Hartford County school for the 2026-2027 year. This full-time, in-person role offers 35 hours per week onsite, with an ASAP start and an end date of June 11, 2027.

The specialist will implement Tier 2/3 interventions, develop student support plans, and participate in SST/504/PPT meetings. Candidates should hold an Active PMT certification and have experience with PBIS/MTSS frameworks, restorative approaches, and strong

• Active PMT training certification.
• Ability to implement behavioral supports, including de-escalation strategies and crisis response techniques when needed.
• Working knowledge of school-based behavior frameworks and supports (PBIS and MTSS).
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group behavioral and social-emotional support aligned to Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
• Help develop, implement, and track student support plans, adjusting strategies based on progress and needs.
• Participate in problem-solving and student support meetings (SST, 504, PPT, and attendance-related meetings) as assigned.
• Use restorative approaches and alternative discipline strategies to address behavior concerns.
• Collaborate with families and school teams to reduce barriers to student success and strengthen home-school communication.
