Job summary

Fridley Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator for Behavior Intervention at Hayes Elementary School. You will support the student behavior team, implement proactive breaks, problem solving and conflict management for K-4 students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to relate to and communicate with staff and students.
• Patience and flexibility in working with special needs students.
• Willingness to expand skills.
• Ability to take direction of supervising teacher.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
• Ability to model and reinforce appropriate verbal and interpersonal behavior.
• Meeting Highly Qualified requirements: two years of college or an AA degree or passing ParaPro.

Responsibilities

• Respond to K-4 students at Hayes Elementary School as part of the student support team.
• Work daily with students experiencing behavior challenges and support behavior management.
• Assist with proactive breaks, problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Follow the teacher-approved plan and maintain confidentiality.
