Job summary

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to deliver one-to-one services for youth and families within the Intensive Behavioral Health Services program. The role emphasizes adhering to clinical goals and licensure requirements while maintaining professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.

You will complete mandated trainings, document accurately, and participate in supervision and interagency meetings.

Qualifications

  • HD, AH degree requirements
  • One year of full-time experience providing mental health support to youth/young adults
  • Must have Pennsylvania clearances or equivalent per state requirements
  • Substitution of related experience/education may be allowed by Personnel Officer

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one behavioral health services to identified youth and family
  • Adhere to program goals, policies and procedures
  • Complete required trainings and documentation for licensure and program compliance
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, payers, and partners
  • Participate in supervision, meetings, and interagency activities
  • Support development of internal systems to improve service quality
  • Deliver crisis interventions as needed to stabilize acute episodes

Job Description:

It is the responsibility of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide one-to-one services to an identified child/adolescent and family to reduce maladaptive behaviors in the home, school & community.

Program:

Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS)

Pay Rate:

$18+/hour

Job Functions:
  • Implement clinical service delivery goals consistent with overall agency goals and policy/procedures
  • Report to direct supervisor, and other administrative staff as required, in a timely and comprehensive manner
  • Complete all training requirements as dictated by the state before working alone with clients (6 hours supervised hours in the field) and any other required thereafter
  • Submit to Human Resources, in a timely manner, copies of all required documentation regarding degrees, licenses, certifications, clearances, and formal training
  • Provide services as defined by the program description, and best practice standards, and in full compliance with licensure standards
  • Maintain professional relationships with consumers, their families, payers, community support service representatives, co-workers, and other agencies
  • Participate in interagency meetings, as required, and represent the agency in an effective and professional manner in all contacts with clients, payers, and collateral staff
  • Ability to work within a group to develop internal systems to improve and ensure quality services
  • Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills
  • Provide all authorized client services and provide supporting documentation for re-authorizations, as necessary, promptly
  • Submit accurate and timely payroll and billing documentation
  • Implement interventions effectively based on the treatment plan and behavior management plan as developed by the Behavior Consultant
  • Provide crisis intervention to clients, when indicated, to stabilize acute crises
  • Participate in all required individual and peer supervision, as well as all applicable program staff meetings
Education:

Have a High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

One year of full-time experience in providing mental health support services to youth, or young adults

Required Clearances:

Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list

Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
