Job Description

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides one-to-one services to children, adolescents, and families to reduce maladaptive behaviors in home, school, and community settings.

Pay Rate

$18/hour

Job Functions
  1. Implement clinical service goals aligned with agency policies.
  2. Report to supervisors and staff promptly and comprehensively.
  3. Complete all required training, including 6 supervised hours in the field, and maintain certifications and clearances.
  4. Provide services according to program standards and legal requirements.
  5. Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, payers, and colleagues.
  6. Participate in interagency meetings and represent the agency professionally.
  7. Collaborate within teams to improve service quality.
  8. Promote safe, socially acceptable behaviors and communication skills.
  9. Document services and support re-authorization processes.
  10. Ensure timely payroll and billing documentation.
  11. Implement interventions as per treatment and behavior management plans.
  12. Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  13. Attend supervision and staff meetings.
Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: One year of mental health support services to youth or young adults.

Certifications: BCAT (Board Certified Autism Technician).

Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal, and federal criminal history checks; verification of not being on Medicaid/Medicare exclusion list.

Note: Additional experience or education may be considered at the discretion of the Personnel Officer.
