Job summary

Merakey is seeking a School Based Behavior Health Technician to join our team, working in Mount Union Area School District, PA. The role focuses on 1:1 behavioral health services in family homes, schools, and community settings.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in psychology or social work, experience with family systems and children, and a valid PA driver’s license. This is a full-time hourly position with benefits, including paid time off and health coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Implements a behavior modification plan developed with family, school and Therapist.
  • Intervenes when the child exhibits problem behaviors.
  • Communicates with families, schools, physicians and other service providers involved with the child and family.
  • Maintains records noting progress and areas for improvement.
  • Reports to Therapist daily and attends required trainings.
  • Provides 1:1 direct service in community, home or school settings.

Earn $17.48 Fulltime 40 hours a week

For our Full-Time hourly Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) role, we offer regular compensation increases at 6 months and again at 1 year. This position is a full-time hourly, benefit-eligible roles that includes paid time off, medical coverage, and other comprehensive benefits.

Position Details

At Merakey, you can make a change in the life of a child using evidence-based treatments to provide 1:1 direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings. You will have fun and let your personality shine while applying individualized treatment.

Responsibilities Include
  • Implements a behavior modification intervention plan developed by the family, school and Therapist.
  • Intervenes as needed when the child exhibits problem behaviors.
  • Interventions may include removing the child from the area, talking with the child about behaviors, accessing support of parents' procedures and implementing plan procedures indicated with the child, using the appropriate intervention technique.
  • Maintains records noting progress and problem areas.
  • Reports to Therapist on a daily basis.
  • Attends training as required.
  • Provides treatment services to families including skills training and education designed to enable families to become actively involved in treatment.
  • Maintains regular communication with families, schools, physicians and other service providers involved with the children and family.
  • Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in order to meet the needs of children and family's caseload. Merakey offers a continuum of care in behavioral health, integrating services in both community and site-based settings. These services provide a wide range of recovery focused treatment, services, and supports for children and adults.
