Job summary

Merakey seeks a School Based Behavior Health Technician to provide 1:1 direct services in family homes, schools, and community settings using evidence-based treatments. You will have the opportunity to apply individualized treatment while building strong relationships with children and their families.

Qualifications

• Required: bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related discipline.
• Experience with family systems and with children and families in a clinical setting preferred.
• Must hold a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Position Details

Responsibilities include:

• Implements a behavior modification intervention plan developed by the family, school and Therapist.
• Intervenes as needed when the child exhibits problem behaviors.
• Interventions may include removing the child from the area, talking with the child about behaviors, accessing support of parents' procedures and implementing plan procedures indicated with the child, using the appropriate intervention technique.
• Maintains records noting progress and problem areas.
• Reports to Therapist on a daily basis.
• Attends training as required.
• Provides treatment services to families including skills training and education designed to enable families to become actively involved in treatment.
• Maintains regular communication with families, schools, physicians and other service providers involved with the children and family.
• Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in order to meet the needs of children and family's caseload. • This position will work in Huntingdon County at Mount Union Area School District in Mount Union, PA
