Job summary

Insight Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the assigned nursing unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance. You will oversee staffing, budgeting, and policy implementation while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires RN licensure in Illinois, a nursing diploma, and prior management experience. Expect day shifts with weekend coverage as part of a rotating schedule, and a strong focus on safety and staff

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing prior to hire date or transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• 3 years of experience required.
• 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
• Licensed as an RN in the State of IL.
• Previous management experience with minimum of 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within unit.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s).
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
• Monitor and adhere to budget.
• Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
• 24H accountability 7 days per week with rotating weekend coverage with other managers.
• Primarily day shift hours with expectation that leader will assure touch base with associates on all shifts.
• Typically holidays are off unless unit needs take precedence for patient and staff safety.
