The role includes training and supporting behavior interventionists, families, and community providers, with supervision opportunities for BCBA trainees. Master's degree in human services or related field preferred, with BCBA/BCABA certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in human services or related field, or actively enrolled in ABA Master's program.
• BCBA or BCABA certification preferred; supervision available.
• Experience writing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Experience with ABA services for children, including Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and create Behavior Intervention Plans for identified students.
• Create, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans with BI staff.
• Summarize and interpret data to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Provide ongoing staff support, training, and guidance to families and community-based providers.
• Recommend programming adjustments and support providers across settings.

Job description

Soar Learning Center of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a Behavior Consultant to join their team! The Behavior Consultant role includes responsibilities such as conducting assessments, creating behavioral intervention plans for identified students, data summarization and interpretation, and ongoing staff support. This position requires actively making recommendations to providers for programming along with training, guiding, and supporting behavior interventionists (BI's), families, home, and community-based support providers in a variety of settings.The appropriate candidate will be able to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and create behavior intervention plans for Soar Learning Center Behavioral Interventionist staff to implement. Experience working with children implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services is a must, preferably experience with children with Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances.It is necessary that the Soar Behavior Consultant have strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills. The Behavior Consultant does not have supervisory oversight of BI’s but are actively involved in training and support of BIs implementing behavior plans. This position is responsible for creating behavioral plans, analyzing data, and assessing outcomes to assure quality and effectiveness of programming.This is an excellent opportunity for advanced training in Applied Behavior Analysis – including opportunities for BCBA supervision. BCBA certification is preferred but we will support you in completing supervision requirements if you are in the process of completing supervision requirements.
