Job summary

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services seeks School Based Behavior Consultants to consult on school-wide and individualized behavior plans across elementary to high school settings. The role follows a 208-day schedule with generous paid time off, primarily aligned to the academic calendar.

You will assess and implement therapeutic, educational, and behavioral interventions, train staff, and collaborate with families and home/community providers.

Qualifications

  • Experience implementing ABA services and PBIS in school settings.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret functional behavior assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, BI staff, and families to implement behavior plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, create, facilitate, and implement behavioral interventions in schools.
  • Provide training and guidance to educational/behavioral staff and families.
  • Develop and apply FBA and BIP recommendations.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team for system-wide and individual needs.

Job description

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking School Based Behavior Consultants to provide consultation on school wide and individualized behavior plans for students. Opportunities in either elementary, middle, or high schools are now available! This is a 208-day contracted position which primarily follows the school schedule – this means generous paid time off!Responsibilities include:Assessment, creation, facilitation, and implementation of therapeutic, educational, and behavioral interventions for students within their schools and communities.Actively making recommendations to providers for programming along with training, guiding, and supporting educational and behavioral staff, families, home and community-based support providers in a variety of settings.Candidates will be able to implement functional behavior assessments and take these findings to create behavioral intervention plans for teachers, paraeducators and/or BI staff. Experience working with children needing ABA services a must, preferably experience with children with Emotional Disturbances.Knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model and be able to work with an interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for system wide and individual needs. Typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, allowing some flexibility with earlier start or later end times to accommodate school, home, and staff meetings before or after school.At NCSS, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes perks such as medical and dental coverage, an employer-matched retirement plan, and educational support.
