Job summary

Arc Broward is seeking a Behavior Companion in Davie, FL to provide one-to-one support in a stimulating learning environment. You will implement plans prescribed by a Behavior Analyst, monitor progress, and model procedures for staff.

Strong data collection and collaboration with the analyst are essential. The role requires a High School Diploma with some college, a valid Florida driver’s license, and successful background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and some college coursework.
• Valid FL driver’s license and successful Level II background check, physical and drug screen.
• Must complete Professional Crisis Management Training (provided).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Prior experience providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities required.
• ABA 20 hour certification preferred, Required within first 3 months of employment.
• Registered Behavior Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a stimulating, safe and healthy learning environment as a one-to-one companion for a particular participant.
• Implements treatment plans as prescribed by Behavior Analyst
• Monitors program implementation and provides feedback related to implementation proficiencies.
• Models program implementation, when appropriate, for other direct support staff.
• Collects data and monitors data collection for accuracy.
• Partners with the behavior analyst and provides feedback regarding client performance.
• Acts as lead staff during behavioral interventions.
• Coordinates and facilitates community activities for the client.
