Job summary

KIPP Columbus is seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to support students with behavioral needs on a K-12 campus in Columbus. The role focuses on implementing behavior plans, providing one-on-one or small group support, and maintaining data on progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a school-based Behavior Assistant.
• 10 hours training in behavior management and positive reinforcement.
• Active educational aide permit through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in following IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with challenging behaviors.
• Use reinforcement, de-escalation, and positive behavior supports.
• Monitor and collect data on behavior and intervention effectiveness.
• Support teachers during transitions and group activities.
• Collaborate with BCBA, teachers, school counselors, and administrators.
