Job summary

Centro-De-La-Familia-De-Utah seeks a dedicated Behavior Assistant to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development in a nurturing learning environment. You will collaborate with the Behavior Specialist to implement strategies and maintain child documentation.

You should be comfortable traveling to centers, delivering training, and pursuing ongoing professional development. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; a high school diploma or RBT certification is required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma; RBT Certification or ability to earn within four weeks.
  • Experience with young children (0-5) in educational or mental health settings.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; background check and driving eligibility required.
  • Willing to travel to centers throughout the service area; some evenings/weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies.
  • Use reflective practices to support teachers in consistent implementation of strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.
  • Provide training on strategies and procedures.
  • Complete at least 15 clock hours of professional development per year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We're seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to join our team and provide individualized support that helps children build positive behaviors, develop essential skills, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key areas of responsibility
  1. Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  2. Use reflective practices to support teachers in the consistent and accurate implementation of program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.
  4. Provide training on program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  5. Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year.
  6. Other duties as designed.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma. RBT Certification (Registered Behavior Technician) or ability to earn certification within four weeks of hire.
  • Experience working with young children (0-5) in educational or mental health settings.
  • Strengths-based, non-punitive approach to behavior. Knowledge of social-emotional development and trauma-informed care.
  • Bilingual English Spanish preferred. Pass a criminal history, background, and sex offender registry check. A driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record. Complete an employment physical exam.
  • Be available to travel to centers throughout the service area and agency. Be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required.
